You may think that if you are looking for classic wooden boat plans that you will have to pay a lot for these plans. After all, adding the word classic or classical, normally translates in monetary terms to adding expensive too. Just think about classic cars for example. If you are looking for a quality classic car, you know you will have to pay a high price tag for it.
However, when it comes to finding high quality classic boat plans, you don't always have to worry about these breaking the bank and leaving you with no money left to buy champagne to sip on deck during your maiden voyage. Nor do you have to think that classic wooden boats are just for the rich and wealthy, when you can choose to build your own classic boat. Instead, you can be confident that you'll be on the water and turning peoples heads in now time.

Now, while classic boat plans may be more complex than building a simple rowing boat, there is nothing to stop the amateur boat builder from attempting such a build. It would be advisable that if you are going to embark on building a classic boat, for the best result, you have some previous experience of boat building and/or woodworking. A lot of the difference will be seen in the finish of the boat, with the classic wood finish being an old favourite of classic boat designs, showing off all that lovely wood. Therefore, you will want to make sure you do your research into how these finishes are achieved and make sure that you spend time and focus on this. After all, this will be what you see every time you (and everyone else) sees your boat, so you will want to make sure it's done right.
